Web-based TV results in the need for broadband
If main entertainment producers concentrate on web-based television series then the need for High-speed broadband will increase significantly.
According to a report of New York Times, Illeana Douglas an independent film actress is relying on the internet to create a mini-series, sponsored by Ikea, the Swedish furniture giant. Illeana Douglas will play the role of a Hollywood actress who becomes a part of the blue-collar wheel in Easy to Assemble.
The news source reports suggests that from October to February the series has attracted 1.5 million views per month. This further indicates that the Web TV would turn out to be a part of the everyday life.
For people who don’t have a reliable and faster broadband service will fail to benefit from new entertainment like this. Slow dial-up connection customers will not be able to enjoy video content effectively.
Speaking to NY Times, the Chief executive of My Damn Channel featuring original comedy and music shows, Rob Barnett said that it is the predictability of the web video that makes it inspiring.
In the meantime, Ms Douglas shows high respect for sponsor for giving her autonomy on production. She is seeking for a new sponsor for Easy to Assemble, third season which is being shot this summer.
