UK, ranks a low 33rd position in the global home internet speed
A website launched by a broadband testing group in the UK, reports a 33rd place in the residence internet speed standing, worldwide.
Meanwhile, South Korea with a download speed of 34Mbit/s claims the first position. This is also said to be about ten decades quicker than the standard speed in Sudan. Sudan is said to be in the 153rd position.
The average speed in the UK is reportedly 7.69Mbit/s, even as top locations for home broadband speeds are reported as Loughton, Welling, Dartford, Clitheroe and Troon.
London, however does not manage to attain the top 30th place among cities in the UK for internet speeds. UK, on the whole reports 0.91Mbit/s home upload speed in addition to a quality rating of nearly 81%.
This ranking is supposed to add the UK to section, termed desirable. Following this, the government would also be justified in trying to speed up broadband connections, all over the country.
The government has also confirmed that they are looking to launch high-speed broadband as well as they would invest more for the same.
The government through its coalition agreement document also reveals an obvious assurance to contemplate on the Department for Culture Media and Sport for a high-speed broadband”.
