UK broadband on the rise
A latest study has exposed that the use of broadband in UK is increasing rapidly. Telecoms regulator Ofcom, in its recent International Communications Market report pointed out that more than half of all British houses had a broadband connection at the end of last year and this is a higher percentage than that found in the US.
It has been found out that there was a tremendous increase in the use of unlimited broadband as the people taking up new connections grew at a rate of over 600% between the year 2001 and 2006 in the UK.
Ed Richards, chief executive of Ofcom stated that the report illustrates that convergence, bundling and the move to digital communications is a powerful global phenomenon. The organisation released a report last month that suggested that broadband take-up has seen a considerable rise among the over-65 age group in the past 12 months.
