Switchers face MAC code problems

0

A very recent report, points out the one major barrier for switchers is the availability of MAC code from their respective broadband providers. With very little concern to the regulation from industry watchdog Ofcom, almost 41% of broadband customers still undergo problems regarding the MAC codes; this was during the last 12 months.

Under this regulation of Ofcom the broadband providers are liable to issue a MAC code within five working days once requested. According to the reports more than half of the switchers had to bear the delay and 27% had to wait long, that is up to two weeks and more.

Migration Access Codes otherwise MAC offers the freedom to broadband customers to switch from one ADSL provider to another even without experiencing any breakage in their connection. This is very necessary for the broadband switching process.

According to the research done, the numbers of complaints produced to Ofcom regarding the MAC codes have been reduced when compared to that of 2007. Again the complaints rose in the first three months as this was the time period when people were planning to switch their broadband providers. The study shows the reduced costs of broadband in the last 12 months and how almost 86% of the people failed to take advantage of it. They could have easily saved money by switching their broadband providers.
