A recent survey conducted has found out that almost all the Brits receives roughly 400 spam email and text messages and that too in a month. The study also exposed the point that almost 90% of the people do not use a junk mail filter that come free with most email providers. The spam filters are used to sort through the spam emails.

People considered spam as a trouble as most of the spam mails are about sales, phishing or pornography. Sometimes, it can still contain viruses and trojans that can harm your records and use your information

Almost 14 % of people admitted that they respond to spam messages. The figure is a bit higher, i.e., 17% for the people under the age of 20.

The research also exposed that around 1/4 of people consider that spam is a hazard to young people. It is the duty of the email provider to notify users of the hazards of spam, such as phishing emails that intend to swindle people into passing on sensitive information like eBay and PayPal passwords. Almost 20% responded that they did not know how to stop the flood of spam emails they get every month.

Mr. Michael Phillips who is the product director of BroadbandChoices.co.uk mentioned that there is hardly any means to stop spam messages. The key alternative for this is that you can set up a spam filter so that all unnecessary emails go into your junk folder. One must make sure that they have virus software and that has to be updated regularly.
