Sky introduces Free 20Mbps Broadband

0

Sky said that they expect to provide only two broadband packages from 1 June 2010, even as they plan to be the first service provider to offer 20Mbps for free to the users.

Sky Everyday Lite, as the free 20 Mbps service is known, is also available with an allowance of 2 GB monthly usage. However, this would only cater to infrequent browsers. This service is also offered free via the Sky Talk for those on Sky TV. The cost of this service is said to be an extra £5 monthly.

Sky Unlimited is also looking to launch 20Mbps. However, it would exclude the usage caps, fair usage policies and traffic management. This is expected to cut down on the Everyday and Every time option, soon. The company is said to be mostly attractive for those looking to make the most of Sky Player, Sky’s video on demand service. The Sky Video’s on demand service is offered complimentary to the paying Sky customers.

Meanwhile, Sky has also added a six months worth of broadband with line rental and free calls when you take or stay with the satcaster. They also offer a £25 Marks and Spencer’s voucher, in case you join the service online.
