People over 50 uses broadband services
According to a new research, people above 50 years of age are using broadband services in the UK. UKOM, the UK Online Measurement Company disclosed that among the total web-based population users aged 50 and above secured third position in the 12 months.
Among the 1.9 million new Britons who accessed the broadband services regularly a million users were aged 50 and above. The spokesperson for UKOM and Neilsen, Alex Burmaster said the study proved that internet services are accessed by older generations as well. Of the four broadband users one will be aged 50 to 64 years and this proves that the internet services is not just reserved for the young technical literati but also for the older generations, he added.
TalkTalk, the broadband and home phone provider said how it supported a range of encouragements to attract older people to get online.
