Pay £25 to terminate BT broadband

0

In order to terminate from BT broadband service, the customers will need to pay £25 regardless of their contract term. This amount is applicable to all customers who intent to stop the broadband connection including those users who switch broadband provider to a new ISP by using MAC code.

Last month, the fee was increased to £25 from £18.11 and it was revealed by PC Pro. According to BT Broadband’s (www.BT.com) new terms and conditions those who wish to end the provider’s broadband service without requesting and with the use of MAC or other recognized method to switch to another service provider will need to make payment of £25.00, beginning from 12 June 2009.

The user need not pay this fee if they shift the home and the provider will not offer the service at the new place.

BT spokesperson said the introduction of this fee intends to motivate the customers to use exact migration process and to cover the technical costs if the process is unused.
