Orange thinks about broadband TV acquisition
According to a report, Orange is looking forward in buying the technology behind Project Kangaroo. This project has been offering customers across the world with broadband TV and video streaming. This proposal was held back in February followed by an investigation by the Competition Commission suggesting that the organization signified a main force in the growing sector.
With an investment of around £20 million, Orange is likely to take power over the joint project, though invalid. The estimated price is considered to be a small amount. Orange broadband, the company concentrating on a range of internet services and mobile phone business is not the only one running for Project Kangaroo.
A spokesperson from France Telecom, Orange’s parent company said that presently no decisions were made but the company is keeping an eye on the ongoing situation. He added that the company is careful of what they are in the UK and that Kangaroo could take initiative in bringing up Orange TV projects in France. Live TV programs can be viewed on the device by developing an iPhone 3G application, said France’s Orange TV.
