O2 survey suggests broadband users waste 700 million pounds
According to a latest survey by O2, millions of broadband customers pay for download speed which they do not use. It is found out that most of the users pay for package offering 20 MB requires when they just use 8 MB speed.
According to the reports, £700 million per year can be saved if customers make payment only for the services they use. The survey revealed that most of the broadband customers used broadband for low bandwidth activities like e-mailing, browsing and social networking, while only few users streamed multimedia content and just 3 to 5 percentage of users downloaded music and movies that actually required huge downloading speeds.
According to Felix Geyr at O2, the industry should be offering services that caters to the users needs and should give them service for their value. He also said that everyone should stay away from marketing based on just the speeds.
