Broadband being popular, affordable and constructive; by the end of this year, half of a billion people are expected to use it all over the world. The figure was calculated by an agency that took census of the number of subscribers for internet at present.
At present, over 480 million customers all over the globe have been subscribed to broadband. The agency concluded that, considering the increase in the services over internet including VoIP; the figure is estimated to go above 500 billion in 2010.
The conclusion by the research body is found to be matching with the opinion of a VoIP provider in US. When they estimated the number of customers those who will use broadband in 2010, the figure was somewhat near.
In the UK, broadband providers are often whipped through NEWS for their frequent poor performances. But it is found that, the country claims to be in sixth position with highest number of broadband subscriptions. This proves that life is almost deficient without broadband.
Another noteworthy outcome of the study is the finding that even though broadband is homed in some of the richest countries in the world to a large extent; still now, there are millions of homes without internet connection, that too in largest consumer markets like China and India.
