London gets the topmost average speed for Broadband among the cities in the UK
London comes first among the UK cities claiming fastest average broadband speed, states a report in one of the websites for broadband comparison.
London with its standard speed 7.54Mbit/s comes after Manchester at 7.2Mbit/s. Birmingham with its 6.7Mbit/s speed stands third. However, the speeds vary a lot, chiefly in the morning, claiming 7Mbit/s at 2am and most terrible at 8pm with 4.7Mbit/s.
Meanwhile, a report also shows the various average speeds estimated from the 250,000 tests conducted by the broadband comparison website between April and June 2010.
Find below a few average speeds: Glasgow reports 7.38Mbit/s speed with Leeds close behind at 7.31Mbit/s and Bristol at 7.19Mbit/s.
Additionally, the average speeds includes 7.01Mbit/s for Sunderland, Portsmouth claims 6.24Mbit/s, Nottingham at 6.16Mbit/s, Newcastle (6.03Mbit/s), Southampton with 5.76Mbit/s and Edinburgh 5.6Mbit/sit/s.
Last stands Norwich with its reported average speed of 4.68Mbit/s.
