Internet TV becomes more popular

0

The latest statistics has revealed that the number of Brits who watch TV downloaded through the internet has doubled when compared to the previous year. The first internet TV was broadcasted in the year 1994 and since then its popularity has augmented tremendously.

A recent study conducted by Continental Research states that more than 2.9 million people have watched internet TV through broadband streaming or they have downloaded shows to this point during the year 2007. The interesting fact is that this figure equates to 10% of all the UK surfers. The study also brought into notice that almost 10% of surfers probably will try out the BBC’s new iPlayer system to look at their much-loved programmes.

ISPreview.co.uk reports that Channel 4′s 4OD service is the most accepted run by a TV network in the UK. A note from Continental Research stated that “Helping to explain the growth of internet TV, satisfaction amongst those viewing TV online is generally positive, with only 12 per cent not satisfied with the service overall. The areas with the greatest dissatisfaction relate to the size of the picture and the quality of the sound and picture.”
