Home Phone Service to be added to O2 UK Package
It has been reported that O2, one of the prominent five mobile broadband providers operating in the United Kingdom, has announced that it was all set to add to its service line-up, fixed home phone service from March, 2010.
According to O2, the latest move would form the part of a strategy of its to evolve beyond mobile network services to emerge as a prominent connectivity brand. An ADSL broadband network has been already installed in the United Kingdom by O2, for its mobile broadband customers and the latest move would provide the same customers with the option of adding a traditional home-phone service to the broadband package.
However, the reports say that there is nothing extra-ordinary with this new offering from O2. Mainly for the reason that the fixed-phone offer of the mobile broadband provider only targets the existing broadband internet customers of its that used a BT voice line currently.
The new move caters a couple of plans; a weekend and evening only service that comes with a price tag of GBP 9.50 a month, and an unlimited calls offer that provides anytime and unlimited calls to the landlines in the United Kingdom at a monthly price of GBP 12.50.
It is also significant that a broadband and phone bundle of the UK ISP, which refers to weekend and evening phone calls bundled with a standard broadband internet package, comes with a price tag of GBP 17 a month.
