Government must compulsorily make broadband a worldwide service; FSB claims
Small businesses look to the government for the help to connect to the much desired broadband, Federation for Small Businesses (FSB) claims.
They report that the government is expected to ensure that basic broadband connection is provided compulsorily worldwide in an attempt to help out small firms to develop and sustain the financial revival.
FSB also confirm that appointing a broadband minister would be a constructive stride ahead. However, the report also shows that as many businesses do not have access to the best broadband they are not trading online as competently as is required.
They further report that small businesses in rural areas especially do not get the service as is promised by high speed broadband deals. Almost 94% report that the pace provided by the service providers does not meet the expectations as was advertised.
John Walker, the national chairman of the FSB also said that the lack of broadband access in the UK have resulted in the small businesses reporting slow growth. They claim that they are unable to expand their business on the web, as a result.
In addition, a study proposed by FSB reveals that numerous small and medium sized ventures feel that high speed broadband connection would give an opportune improvement to their business.
