Next Generation Broadband defined not just by their speed but also on quality
The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) has urged the government to define the next generation broadband connection not by their speed, alone. The value of the services provided by the network has to be considered too.
A representative for the Association goes on to say that the current coalition government between Conservatives and Liberal Democrats will consider the next generation broadband services as the most vital issue.
He adds that the government should look to increase the money put into the fast broadband connections. This should enable to generate additional competition.
ISPA also calls for the government to not pass on any attempt to extend the internet access to everyone in small areas, where the reach is otherwise not that great.
Meanwhile, a recent report in the ISPA website also claim that nearly half the users in the UK are ready to shell out extra for getting the 100Mb broadband services. It hints that even consumers that previously had a 10Mb connection are looking to connect to the 100Mb speed internet.
