Fourth spectrum auction by Ofcom
Telecoms watchdog Ofcom has pronounced strategies to cling to a fourth auction of radio spectrum authorization in the coming year. This auction will be for range bands between 10 and 40 GHz. According to Ofcom, this would be highly apposite for those who look forward to make use of broadband with high aptitude and the user will be competent to transmit a considerable volume of data across distances, up to 12 km.
Ofcom stated that this auction will be beneficial for customers by releasing bands that has moved out unused. They also mentioned that this will profit customers by offering admittance to new services, better choice and competition and above all it will be a boon to the financial system as well.
The body summarized its strategies for the use of wireless spectrum at the 2012 Olympic Games in London last week. Amongst the other functions, this will be utilized for wireless camera video links, handheld radios and audio links.
