Exclusive On-Demand Sports for Broadband users
All the broadband users can now enjoy web-based on-demand sports events due to subsequent success that was seen when an international football match was screened live on internet. According to Screen Digest spokeswoman, England’s game against Ukraine has opened up opportunities to broadcast such games in the coming future.
A report of Perform stated that almost half a million football fans used their connections on Saturday 10th October to witness that historic night and that game became the most subscribed pay-per-view sports event. Marie Bloomfield, broadband analyst at Screen Digest commented that this sort of broadcast was more profitable and also provided the feel of viewing the live match and the company was interested in bringing up new projects in future.
According to her, there might be certain circumstances where such broadcasts would depend on how the rights holders would want to transmit them. She also added that certain historic events can be seen live only once, and viewers are ready to pay for these events. According to the report of Perform, no technical issues tampered the screening of the match and a very few issues were rectified within five minutes.
