Double download speeds from Be

0

Be Broadband provider is thinking of doubling the download speeds up to 45 Mb.

There has been report of customers being able to attain speeds of around 30 Mb to 45 Mb, who took for trial the line bonding technology for Be Broadband. These speeds are an equivalent of an average MP3 file being downloaded every second.

The download speeds are set to be increased in 2009. The fastest ADSL speeds possible are offered by Be currently with speeds of up to almost 24 Mb.

Be Broadband managing director, Mr. Felix Geyr has argued to pushing the limits of high speed broadband. He has been quoted as saying – “We already offer the fastest possible broadband on and ADSL line, but we want to take it a step further. If you want broadband around the 50 Mb mark but don’t want to go the cable route, Be wants to offer you a real alternative.”

Virgin Media has similarly announced the much awaited 50 Mb cable broadband package. It is unfortunately only available to 10 % of its customers with more networks being targeted to receive the service in 2009.
