Development of Economy directly proportional with growth of Internet

According to NESTA, if the UK government is able to execute its decisions; by the end of 2017, there will be some considerable upgrade in the field of internet and it will create job openings for nearly 600,000 people. If the projects move in the right way, it will add £18 billion to the annual gross.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling during the presentation of last budget stated that by the end of 2017, the government will provide 90 per cent of the population with super-fast broadband. For raising fund for this, a mere 50p tax will be imposed on the UK landlines.

NESTA’s programme director for creative economy team, Jon Kingsbury said that it will be internet that is going to lift the economy, the coming years. Internet with its unending opportunities will increase the chances. Consumers as well as producers will find it easy, the trade through internet. Online retail will flourish the years following. Distance between the place of production and the people who use it will be considerably low if internet is the place where people look for the things they need.

Apart from the growth in the sector of business, as the people come close with the advancement in internet, there will be noticeable difference in the growth of service, healthcare, education and social communities.

With in few years, doctors will be able to treat patients online, students will be attending their lessons from home and those who seek for fun to fill the leisure will be contented with internet applications.

ONS (Office for National Statistics) concluded by their last research that about 70 per cent of the UK households (18.3 million) have internet connection in 2009. About two million households got connection during last year. It’s in the capital, London, the most people got access to internet; 80 per cent of the London houses have got internet access. Even the lowest is 62 per cent and this figure is found in Scotland.
