Cost of Global Mobile Broadband for football fans halved; 3 UK reports
3 UK have cut back the charges of the mobile broadband to nearly half especially for the football enthusiasts going for the Fifa World Cup to the South Africa. The company had earlier cut down the tab for data roaming between June and July for its users at no added expenses.
It was mainly introduced for people travelling to foreign parts mainly to watch the football, in order to get the required facts and updates. Meanwhile, the Sales and Marketing Director for 3UK, Marc Allera claims the importance of being in contact with family and friends even while on the go.
He adds that though with the launch of smart phones, the data roaming is now become typical, the roaming charges, still remain way too high. Decision of reducing costs for UK fans travelling to South Africa follows this.
The company further declares that though there may be other companies that provide this service, still they could go on to levy added fee for the benefit or even demand that users purchase a definite quantity of data before starting on travels.
The costs are expected to be £1.25 per megabyte for the deals as well as £1.40/min for phone calls- for example the charges will be 99p to receive, 25p for an MMS message and 35p for a text.
In the interim, the information and technology risk team of Deloitte have also warned that for the duration of the game, especially over the everyday day matches, the network could be overused, as to greater extent users depend on mobile broadband to watch the games.
