Consumer Focus Pleads For Equality in High Speed Broadband Rollout

Consumer Focus said that, while flagging off the next generating high speed broadband connections, the authorities should take intense concern to diminish the invisible barrier between rural and urban areas of the UK in terms of technology and innovation supply.

According to Consumer Focus, the helpful product of technology should find way to all the parts of the country without any segregation.

Jillian Pitt, technology expert form Consumer Focus mentioned that, since the gap between digital developments in rural and urban areas have gone considerable, it’s extremely necessary to provide fibre optic broadband services to rural areas.

She confessed that at the time being, the innovations are moving around only in cities and the benefits are being enjoyed by only the people living there.

She also added that, it’s the left behind rural areas immensely need technological support for growth in communication means, information, entertainment and economy. She pleads for an equality policy to be taken in the distribution of high speed broadband.

Last day, the UK government has formed a body named Broadband Delivery UK to make sure the availability of next generation Broadband in rural areas. The newly formed organization will deal with the management of the fund which is to be raised for the providing of high speed broadband to the 90 per cent of the UK homes by 2017.
