Other connection may be stalled due to BT’s 20Mb broadband upgrade

0

According to the reports of PC Pro there is a possibility for the slow down in others connection once BT broadband upgrades its ADSL2+ internet connection to 20MB.

About 40 per cent of the UK businesses and homes have been upgraded from its earlier “up to” 8Mb ADSL Max service and until the stabilization of the service few customers may face slow download rates. The internet service provider was unclear as to how many will be affected by this problem. However, many customers will see the development in their broadband connection.

The company’s spokesperson said to PC Pro that the greatest and the most consistent service for each line is provided by the advanced ADSL2+’s network management. For few applications the speed of the line is given less importance than its speed. Minor lines that have not faced any issues and 8Mb broadband plan may experience problems with speeds after their migration to the ADSL2+, he added.

As a solution to this problem BT has given assurance to classify the customers experiencing reduced speed and those customers will be migrated to ADSL2+ products. This will enable them to use a service similar to IPStream Max and fixed-rate products.
