Broadband roll out provides improved IP telephony solutions
For broadband roll-out in remote areas of the country, Kent County Council (KCC) offers funds of £486,000, suggests a recent report. Earlier these rural areas were unable to receive the technology and with the installation of advanced equipment, more than 6,800 customers could enjoy broadband connection.
With the availability of faster broadband connection, customers of IP telephony solutions in the area could enjoy supreme quality of calls.
Councillor and KCC cabinet member for corporate support services and performance management, Roger Gough announced that every household will have broadband access pretty soon.
He said that broadband is necessary for expansion of business as well as for social networking among people. This move has helped them reach one step closer to their objective of providing coverage around the country, thus enabling everyone to access broadband he added.
The latest funding by the council provides users in the parish of Iwade to benefit from fibre-optic broadband of BT. At present more or less 1,350 homes have access to 40 Mb broadband connections.
