According to the research firm the vehicles with internet access will increase from 1.1 million to six million by the year 2017. The proliferation of mobile communications and technology will cause this increase.

According to the study, this increasing popularity is the main reason for those people in the automotive industry to consider practicality of apps for use in the cars and light vehicles.
