50 Per cent of Broadband Consumers paying Over the Odds
It has been revealed by a freshly carried out research that half the consumers of broadband internet access in the United Kingdom were wasting money on wrong broadband internet packages.
The research that revealed the fact that fifty per cent of the broadband customers in the country was paying more than what was logically right for the so called unlimited broadband internet packages, which were superfluous to them, was carried out by a leading broadband comparison website in the United Kingdom Broadband Choices.
The study undertaken by the website found out a great number of broadband customers in the country not even scratching the surface of their data download limit. The research also found out that these customers could save considerably by downgrading to broadband package capped at a lower monthly price.
53 per cent of the customers that subscribed to an unlimited broadband internet package were found to be downloading less than 10GB of data per month, and almost three quarters downloaded data less than 20GB, which were far less than wht their packages offered. This meant that they were as a matter of fact, paying for a broadband service they did not require.
The product director of the website, Michael Phillips said that it was pretty easy to turn distracted when selecting a broadband package owing to an excess of flash marketing, and terms like unlimited or the fear of download penalties added fuel to that.
