15 million people subscribe to BT

0

About 15 million customers are now signing to the broadband provider, BTs high speed broadband network. According to BT, this is an important milestone in their growth.

BT has announced last week that 15 million customers have subscribed to its broadband connection through the company infrastructure. It means that more or less 5000 new customers have been subscribing to broadband service since August 2002. All these customers are not directly subscribed up to BT but it also comprises competitors such as TalkTalk, Sky and O2 using its network.

Olivia Garfield, Strategy director at BT, hailed the improvements of getting more customers in the UK online and said that Broadband Britain has been a successful venture with reasonable prices, improved take-up and extensive availability.

BT had announced in July 2010, it has taken the share of the UK’s internet retail market to 40 per cent with the addition of 96,000 in the first quarter of 2010-11 financial year.
