Dynamic IP versus Static IP

0

IP address otherwise known as Internet Protocol address is a common term a user will come upon when he subscribes for a home broadband package or business broadband package. IP address is an exclusive number assigned to your PC in a network when you subscribe to a broadband connection. This allows other PCs in the World Wide Web network to connect and communicate with your web server or PC. In order to find the IP address of your PC connect your PC to the internet then verify the internet settings to go to LAN and there you will find it. You should remember that if the PC is not connected to internet it could have any IP which may not be provided by the administrator. With this IP address other PC could trace your PC and this enables your computer system from accessing information from other PC’s with exclusive but alike numbers. Dynamic IP and Static IP are the provided two types of IP addresses.

Dynamic IP and its benefits
Dynamic IP are normally offered free of cost by ISP’s and it will vary every time you connect to the internet. In short your PC will be allotted diverse number codes every at different time. If a network is administered by Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) the allotment of IP address and network configuration are completed at a faster pace.

IP address, DNS and gateway from the DHCP server are obtained by the computer automatically. This allows the addition of new computers to the network very easily. Besides that, dynamic IP is very handy and easier to allot, dispense and manage. In the case of a large LAN network you need not configure every computer by yourself and this can save your time. This dynamic IP allows you to register as a strange user. However dynamic IP is not ideal for web hosting and in this case you will have to rely on static IP. Home users will not have any problem when they use this type of IP.

Static IP and its advantages
Static IP is offered by very few broadband providers and this also offers discrete advantages. Static IP is ideal for web hosting due to the fact that the server needs this type of IP address since the DNS will infer the domain names as IP addresses which is unchangeable in the network.  This IP comes in handy when you have to spot a particular PC in a large chain of PC’s and this is the very reason as to why they are used in large infrastructure environment.

The advantage with this type of IP is that it is unchangeable in the internet environment. This means that a PC can be operated, maintained and controlled from anywhere. Static IP is best suited for web hosting purpose. Business users who endorse their business through internet should go for business broadband package along which you may get a free static IP address.

Businesses with their own website will flourish and is likely to support its customers. Additional options such as free emails, free domain name and web space are provided by ISP and you can select any business package considering the options available before you. You can create email addresses with your domain name which will enhance the business. Static IP is ideal for gamers who make use of the dedicated broadband connection as the FTP servers make the data transference much quicker.

Broadband providers and their packages can be compared and you can arrive at wise decision.
